Popular Jewlry For Your Hair Part 1

I can't believe what I'm seeing. Is it really back? The ethereal, slightly gawdy, shimmering jewels that made us feel rich when we were little girls.

I remember when I was young and visiting my grandmother's house. She lived in the deep woods of Castle Rock in Colorado about 30 minutes from us. Her home smelled like pine and dirt; it's my favorite scent. She had wild strawberries in her garden, kombucha brewing in her fridge, and bags of jewelry I'd go through in her house. I'd feel like a queen putting on pearl bracelets or gawdy emerald rings. I felt beautiful, and I felt rich.

Flash forward to 2023 and here we have it: gawdy emeralds, fat fake diamonds, tortoise shell, glossy golds, and pearls -- and they're beautiful. I can't wait to get my hands on a few of these so I can feel like a queen again.

We can start with one of my favorites types: the jewled headband. It's about as close to a modern day crown as you can get. It's high in cost, but I'll be sure to list some that are budget-friendly too. In the end, the price doesn't matter as long as you feel good in it.

Just look at this:

The bejeweled headbands by Leletny. They're hand crafted by artisan designers and the care shows through in the product. Some are meant to be worn on holidays or to a fancy party or event. Some are meant to be worn every day. Which is which? You get to pick.

Here are the jeweled bobbies that make any hairstyle glamorous. Imagine waking up with bedhead and pinning one of these in. It's like you meant to look like that, and you've bedazzled yourself right into a boho chic look in 2 seconds.

I love the minimalist nature of this next one. It's simple but makes a statement and is easy to attach in virtually any hairstyle. It's affordable and fun all in one purchase.

If minimalism isn't your thing, maybe it's gold. (I know silver is coming back, but gold is here to stay because it's timeless. Think about it, when did gold ever mean anything less than expensive?) These beautiful pieces also by Leletny are so stunning, you don't need to put much effort into the hairstyle. They do the work for you, so low ponytail it is.

And how about this one by the talented designers at Epona Valley ...

And I'm not done with gold yet .... Emeralds and the color Emerald green happen to be my favorites and here they are decorating this gorgeous golden Epona Valley headband like a fairytale.

So, these above pieces are stunning but what about practical hair accessories that are great for summer and still cute? I got you. Lately I've been using pencils to hold my hair up while gardening. Why not a rubber bands you may wonder? I don't like the tension but the real reason is I can't find any. As I grabbed yet another colored pencil to tie up my hair, I had this flashback again to my grandmother tying her hair up with a beautiful brown and black tortoise shell hair chopstick. My next move? I immediately took out that colored pencil and began googling hair chopsticks, and I was very happy with what I found.
